In this Privacy Policy of Take it Personally B.V., we explain how and for what purposes we process your personal data and what your rights are.

1. What is Take it Personally?

Take it Personally is a mobile app that brings together professionals and (potential) customers. It allows customers to share their appreciation and to contribute to the Professional’s reputation growth. It also allows professionals to be found by customers and to grow their professional profile.

2. What personal data do we collect, and what do we use it for?

In short: we only use your personal data to enable you to use Take it Personally, to keep you informed about Take it Personally and to gain general insight into the use of Take it Personally.

Take it Personally cannot be used by persons that are below the age of 16, so we do not collect personal data about people younger than 16.

Information when making an account:

To make an account, we ask you to submit your email address, this is required to be able to make an account. You will be sent a code to log in to your account. You can later change the email address by editing your account. We do not ask you to enter a password.

Information in your account: 

Once you have made your account, you can fill out your personal details such as: your first name, last name, company name, your role or function, email address, phone number, profile picture, your website or your company’s website, company logo, social media accounts. This information is used to show to other users and to allow them to interact with you, such as contacting you or thanking you. Users can say thank you anonymously.

You can decide what information you add to your account, but we ask you to at least include your first and last name and email address so your potential clients can find and contact you.

If you are a professional, the information in your profile will be shown to other users so that they can contact you, but you can chose your preferred contact method through the setting for your email address and your phone number. As long as you have not chosen a contact method, your email address and phone number will not be visible to other users and will not show up in other users’ search results.

If you are a professional user, users may share your profile with other users using other social media channels.

Please do not add any sensitive data to your account. This concerns one of the following types of personal data: information about your health, about your sex life or sexual orientation, political opinions, race or ethnic origin, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, biometric data or genetic data. If, under applicable laws, these types of data may show from your profile picture or other personal data you fill out, we must assume that, by doing so, you agree to sharing it with the other Take it Personally users who can view your profile. We will, in any case, not use such personal data for any other purpose than enabling you to share your profile information in Take it Personally.

If you are a professional, user information will be created such as your personal statistics and information about your reputation. This is not visible for other users.

Email notifications: 

In your settings, you can indicate which email notifications you wish to receive, this includes news and support emails about Take it Personally. You can always opt-out of this and in the message itself by clicking the unsubscribe button.

Information about your location:

When you create an account, we will ask you to allow Take It Personally access to your device’s location. For Take It Personally to function properly we need you to select “​Allow All the Time”​ ( your location will run on the background). You do not have to however, you can also chose “Allow Only When Using the App” or “Deny”. 

If you chose “Deny” or “Allow Only When Using the App”, you can still use Take it Personally with limited functionality (only search), because the timeline will not function properly. ​You will not be matched with others on the timeline, will not be able to leave or receive feedback and earn professional reputation.

You can turn your location ON and OFF at any time for Take it Personally app in the phone settings.

Timeline:

If you choose to be Active you will be matched with other users you meet and you will appear on each other’s timelines. You will be able to see each other’s photo, name, profession, the time and the approximate location of the interaction.

Once you chose to be Inactive on the timeline, from that moment you and users you meet will not see each other on each other’s timeline

Reporting other users:

Users may report problems with respect to other users of Take it Personally. Such reports will be taken seriously by us and may lead to further investigation and even blocking of the relevant user’s account.

Blocking other users: 

 

Users can block other users by adding them to the blocked users list. Once you blocked someone, you and the blocked user will not be able to see each other anywhere in the application. You can remove blocked users from the blocked list at any time.

Communication with us:

If you contact us, for example by email or messenger app, we process your personal data to be able to communicate with you.  

3. On what lawful basis do we process your personal data?

We process your personal data to be able to conclude and perform the agreement with you, which is the agreement for the use of Take it Personally, as well as to fulfil our legal obligations for administration purposes and for our legitimate interests (sending news and service emails, responding to reports, communicating with you).

For specific manners of use of your personal data we ask your consent in Take it Personally, for example for sharing your location and when you chose to show your telephone number and/or email address as a professional user.

4. How can you manage your personal data?

Editing the information in your account:

You can edit the information in your account at any time.

Downloading your personal data from your account:

You can request to download your personal data from your account through your account settings. The data will be sent to the email address registered in your account within five working days.

Deleting your account:

You can delete your account at any time. You can find the delete button in your settings.

Separate requests:

You also have the right to have your personal data restricted, to access it, to have incorrect personal data corrected, to object to processing of your personal data and to ask for an archive of your data processed electronically on the basis of consent or for the performance of the agreement we have with you.

You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

5. With whom do we share your personal data?

We share your personal data with the service provider that hosts the Take it Personally app. Your personal data are stored in the European Economic Area.

We may, incidentally, be obliged to share certain personal data with third parties, on the basis of legally binding orders.

6. How long is your personal data stored?

Your personal data is stored for as long as it is necessary, given the purpose for which it is processed:

  • The information in your account is stored for as long as you have your account. When you delete your account, all information is deleted from Take it Personally.
  • The information in your timeline will also be removed after you delete your account; it will be removed from other users’ timelines on which you appear.
  • Personal data included in communication with other users will be stored in those other users’ accounts until they delete their accounts.
  • Personal data in communication with you will be stored for a period of 5 (five) years.
  • Personal data related to reports are kept as long as this is necessary to handle the report and for a period of 5 (five) years after the report is closed.

7. How can you contact us?

8. Can we update this Privacy Policy?

If there are important changes in the processing of your personal data, we will have to update this Privacy Policy to reflect those changes. We will notify you of such changes by email or through a notification in Take it Personally. Non-important changes would be an update of our contact details.
