This Policy should be read in conjunction with our Terms of Service. When you use our Platform, you agree to our privacy and data protection practices as described in this Policy. If you do not agree with these practices, please do not use our Platform.
This Policy explains our approach to collecting and processing your personal data, whether obtained directly from you or from a third party, and why we do so. Personal data, as referred to in this Policy, means any information that relates to an identifiable individual, such as a name, identification number, location data, online identifier (for example, an IP address or device identifier), or other factors that are specific to a particular individual, including physical appearance. Identifiable means that a single piece of personal data might directly identify an individual or more than one piece of personal data could be used together to identify an individual.
Please note that this Policy applies only to your personal data obtained by us, whether directly or from a third party. It does not cover personal data collected by third parties during your interactions with them or your use of their products or services, including if you follow a link from our Site or App to a third-party website or application.
The Platform and its services are made available by companies in the Take it Personally group of companies (each a “Group Company”).
Where this Privacy Notice refers to “Take it Personally”, “we”, “us”, or “our”, this means one or more of the Group Companies will provide Services to you.

Our Platform is not intended for children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 16.
The types of personal data we collect and process will depend on how you use our Platform. For instance, we collect limited personal data from people who merely browse our Site, but more personal data will be needed from people who register and use our Platform for tipping. If you apply for a job with us or reach out to us with a question, we will collect additional personal data as needed to evaluate your eligibility for employment or respond to your question. Note that we use Stripe as our trusted third-party payment processor. As a part of account creation in our Platform, Tipped user must also complete onboarding with Stripe. Stripe will require Tipped user to submit KYC information (such as full name and associated businesses) and financial data (such as bank account or payment card details). We don’t store this data. It is processed by Stripe, and you can review information in Stripe’s Privacy Center for more details about their practices.
In short, we only use your personal data for specific purposes, including enabling you to use our Platform, keeping you informed about TiP, and gaining insights into how our Platform is used. Here are some common ways we use personal data:
We share personal data when legally permitted, implementing appropriate security measures and contractual safeguards. We may share data with:
Service providers: the Platform hosting companies, payment processors (such as Stripe), IT vendors for system maintenance and security, customer relationship managers and other companies who assist us with administration, marketing and advertising agencies for campaigns and promotions
Legal and regulatory bodies: law enforcement agencies, government regulators, and courts
Other parties in business transactions: potential buyers during a company sale, merging entities in case of a merger, legal and financial advisors
Analytics and research partners: data analytics firms to improve our services and market research companies for industry insights
Business users: We provide business users with limited data about their employees using our Platform in various reports, however we don’t share individual tip amounts.
How We Use Cookies
We and our partners use various technologies such as cookies, web beacons, and pixel tags (collectively referred to as “Cookies”) to collect Technical Data from the devices you use to access our Platform, use our services or read our emails.
We analyse the Technical Data collected to assess how you use our Platform and services, which helps us evaluate their effectiveness, improve them and market them as well as for the following purposes:
In some email messages, we may use a “click-through URL” linked to specific websites we administer, tracking click-through data to gauge interest in particular topics and communication effectiveness. We also may use clear pixels in emails to track whether our emails are opened and read. To opt-out of receiving our marketing communications, please click the “unsubscribe” link in any marketing communication you receive.
Additionally, we offer social media sharing features or other integrated tools to let you share information about us on your social media, such as Facebook, LinkedIn or Instagram. The visibility of any content you share will depend on the settings you choose for the social media site through that site’s settings. Your interactions with social media features are governed by the privacy policies of the social media companies that provide them.
Your Choices about Cookies
You can choose to block Cookies when you visit our website, but some parts of our Platform may not work as expected when Cookies are blocked. Blocking Cookies will not prevent you from receiving advertising from us or other companies, but the advertising you see may not be as relevant to you or your interests.
Be aware that you will need to opt out separately on each browser or device you use, as opt outs are typically specific to a single browser or device. Resetting your device and other actions you take to remove information from your device or browser may remove your opt-out choices or prevent them from working as intended.
In some locations, we may only process your personal data when we have a legal basis to do so. In those locations, we process your personal data for the legal bases described below.
When you have an account on our Platform, we process your personal data to be able to perform the agreement with you, provide the services you request and send transactional emails.
We process any personal data as needed for our legitimate interests, such as operating our business, marketing our business, complying with our legal obligations and responding to questions and communicating with you.

Editing personal data in your account:
You can edit personal data in your account at any time. These changes take effect immediately.
Downloading your personal data from your account:
You can ask to download your personal data from your account through your account settings. Your personal data will be sent to the email address registered in your account. Please allow up to a week for this to be completed.
Deleting your account:
You can delete your account at any time. You can find the Delete Account button in your App’s settings.
Privacy rights you may have:
Depending on where you are located, you also may have other rights provided by law, including the right to access a copy of the personal data we have about you, to correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data, to request deletion of personal data and to object to our processing of your personal data or ask that we restrict the processing of your personal data to certain uses.
You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority regarding our personal data practices. Our supervisory authority is Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (the Dutch Data Protection Authority), or you may contact the supervisory authority where you live or work.

We may reach out with additional questions to help us process your request, including questions to help us verify your identity, which we ask that you promptly respond to.
To determine an appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider various factors such as the amount, nature, and sensitivity of your personal data; the potential risk of unauthorized access, use or disclosure; the purposes for which we process your personal data; and applicable legal requirements.
